National Carpenters Day 2014


National Carpenters DayThe day we celebrate the mighty Chippie is fast approaching, with November 21, 2014 known as National Carpenters Day.

In 2013 over 10,000 chippies attended barbecues at timber yards, TAFEs and hardware stores around the country, checking out the competitions, giveaways, tool displays and exhibitions offered as an ode to the Aussie carpenter.

Melbourne Polytechnic TAFE (previously NMIT) is hosting the major barbecue for the 2014 event which is supported by major brands including Milwaukee, Festool, Steel Blue and plenty more.

2014 Carpenter and Apprentice Carpenter of the Year will be announced on the day with nominations now open at

Nominate yourself, a colleague, employee or an apprentice. Training institutions can also nominate apprentices. Applications close 1 November 2014.

National Carpenters Day strives to increase the profile and value of carpenters within the community.
